COURSE CONTENT:
The LAP/LARCH bachelor's seminar serves to support students in the preparation, implementation and presentation of their bachelor's thesis. It is an accompanying course that structures the scientific work process and promotes exchange with supervisors and other students. The bachelor's seminar thus provides important support for the successful completion of the bachelor's thesis and offers space for feedback and reflection.

BACHELOR'S THESIS:
The bachelor's thesis is an important part of the programme and a prerequisite for completing the bachelor's degree. As a final thesis, it should be the original work of the student. It serves to demonstrate the student's ability to work on a specific topic from a subject area independently, methodically and scientifically correctly.
The bachelor's thesis is worth 12 ECTS credits and must be officially registered. This is done through the BOKU Student Services. A supervisor from the department must supervise and approve the thesis.
The topic is chosen in consultation with a supervisor. The thesis can be written in German or English, depending on the agreement with the supervisor.

Objectives of the bachelor's seminar:

• Topic selection and narrowing down: Support in selecting and specifying a suitable topic for the bachelor's thesis.
• Academic work: Teaching methods, techniques and standards for writing an academic paper (e.g. literature research, methodology, citation).
• Presentation: Practice and feedback on presenting your own work (e.g. presentation of the topic, the research question and the results).
• Exchange: Discussion of ideas, challenges and progress with supervisors and other students.
