Content

In the Bachelor's thesis, current issues from various areas of agricultural sciences are dealt with in a practical and scientifically sound manner. Topics relating to animal production, plant cultivation, plant protection, plant breeding, horticulture, fruit growing, viticulture, oenology, organic farming, botany, zoology, genetics, soil science as well as social and economic issues are dealt with individually or in small groups.

New topics are announced each year. Students learn how to work scientifically, from the development of research questions and hypotheses to literature research and methodical data collection and analysis.

Previous knowledge expected

Students can only register for the Bachelor's thesis module after successfully completing the following compulsory modules:

Agroecology, Meteorology and Climatology
Agricultural Markets and Crop Production
Agricultural Genetics and Microbiology
Chemistry for Agricultural Sciences
Botany and Zoology for Agricultural Sciences
Statistics and Data Science for Agricultural Sciences
Mathematics for Agricultural Sciences
Soil Science and Geology for Agricultural Sciences

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students are prepared for the challenges of agricultural sciences. They have the skills to deal with scientific issues and develop practice-orientated solutions.
