Content

Elaborating a project for land-saving development in a municipality as teamwork

Previous knowledge expected

Knowledge of the contents lectures ‘Planning Theory and Planning Methodology’ and ‘Instruments and Methods of Spatial and Landscape Planning’ or ‘General Spatial Planning for LAP/LARCH’ or ‘Spatial Planning (UBRM)’ as well as the course ‘Project on Spatial Planning’ is required. GIS knowledge is necessary for project work.
If the maximum number of participants is exceeded, course teachers reserve the right to give priority to students who have completed the course ‘Project on Spatial Planning’ from the waiting list.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Graduates of this course...

- understand how social and economic processes, political programmes and the differing interests of the actors involved influence land take.

- are able to obtain, prepare and analyse technical information and data as a basis for strategies and projects of land-saving development, and to select and apply suitable (planning) methods.

- can use this as a basis for developing local and regional strategies and projects for land-saving development.

- are able to assess the intended effects of methods and instruments based on practical application and to evaluate their possible unintended effects.
