Content

IIntroduction to the technological, ecological, and applied plant physiology fundamentals of commercial horticultural plant production in protected and open-field cultivation.
Horticultural plant propagation, the use of production resources and equipment, product quality assurance, and the classification of horticultural yields (ornamental plants and vegetable product groups) are presented and explained. The production and marketing of major commercial crops are illustrated.

Previous knowledge expected

It is favorable to have basic knowledge in crop/plant-physiology - and interest in horticulture.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After completing the course, students should be able to explain and argue important process steps in horticultural plant production and demonstrate possible applications in relation to professional practice.
