Please note: In the summer semester, only the topic “Digital Transformation” will be covered, i.e., topics from the fields of AI/robotics/sensors will be addressed in mini-projects in close cooperation with the Human-Centered AI Lab and the Robot Test Park in Tulln. Most of the work will take place in the teaching forest and at the Robot Test Park Tulln. Before registering for this course, please read the specialist literature (see below) to see if the topic is of interest to you. The preliminary meeting will take place at the Tulln location; the date will be announced after March 1.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students are able to scientifically examine a question from the problem areas of forestry studies. They can obtain suitable literature on a given topic and critically evaluate its content. Students are able to write a report that meets scientific criteria and deliver a professional presentation to an informed audience. They are able to justify the methods used in a scientific discourse and to substantiate their hypotheses with the results/findings obtained. Students can work together in a team with several members, divide a task into individual work packages, and finalize these on schedule. They are able to organize themselves within a team and subordinate themselves to the common success of the group.
