This interdisciplinary course introduces students to the core ideas and practical relevance of nature-based solutions (NbS) as approaches for local and regional climate change adaptation.Students explore international policy frameworks, socio-ecological dimensions, and participatory co-design approaches for NbS. Using real-world case studies, they critically reflect on benefits, trade-offs, and implementation challenges, and develop ideas for applying NbS in their own regional or institutional contexts.
- Previous knowledge expected
-
Interest in climate change adaptation, sustainability planning, and nature-based approaches. Basic knowledge of environmental or spatial planning is helpful but not mandatory.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
