Content: The course prepares students for their master thesis. Through a mix of inputs, group work and individual feedback, students learn how to move from a general interest/topic to a focused research question and how to align these with appropriate theoretical concepts and methods. Depending on the interests and needs of the students, the lecturers will provide targeted input on theories and methods in the respective specialization.
Previous knowledge expected: Substantive progress in the general modules and the chosen specialization
Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences): After the successful completion of the course, participants
- know how to channel research ideas and topics into focused research designs
- have an overview about research topics in the interdisciplinary field of their specialization
