A new project of the BOKU Department of Food Science and Technology in cooperation with the Hanoi University of Agriculture.

In 2011, the Austrian Minister of Science and Research, Dr. Karlheinz Töchterle, and the Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Nguyen Quan, had agreed on intensified cooperation between Vietnam and Austria in the area of science and research. To this end bilateral cooperative projects were announced for the first time. One of three granted projects has now been awarded to the Department of Food Science and Technology at BOKU (Assoc. Prof. Peterbauer, Prof. Haltrich) and their Vietnamese partner, Hanoi University of Agriculture (Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh). This project will focus on enzymes for upgrading residual material from agriculture into valuable prebiotic sugars. The main aim of these bilateral research projects will be the exchange of knowledge and the advancement of young researchers in order to facilitate the cooperation between scientists and institutions.
