Best talk award

Luci’s talk on "The extravesicular miRNome of senescent human fibroblasts and its impact on keratinocyte functionality" at the annual Science Days of the Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venerology (ÖGDV) was selected for the best talk award and honored with a mobility prize.

Luci is PhD-student in the team of Johannes Grillari of the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Biotechnology of Skin Aging at the Department of Biotechnology. They investigate the crosstalk between dermal and epidermal skin cells and identified specific, and selectively secreted extravesicular miRNAs from senescent fibroblast that modulate keratinocyte functionality. With their work the scientist aim to detect new regulatory mechanism that affect the intrinsic and extrinsic changes of skin aging.

The travel grant opens the opportunity to visit a lab of choice which enables her to learn new techniques and to increase the impact of upcoming papers within the CD Lab.
