BBG - Brownfields are better than Greenfields

Re-utilisation of brownfields instead of sealing new green spaces

Brownfields are better than Greenfields - Re-utilisation of brownfields instead of sealing new green spaces is core of our latest research project. Funded by the Interreg Programme Danube Region by the European Union, we will work together with partners from 8 countries on pilot sites in Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia. Our central concerns are circular economy, utilisation of existing structural resources, sensitive handling of industrial heritage and regeneration of the sites with benefits for the population. Embedded in the SDGs and the Terretorial Agenda 2030, sustainable future scenarios are in demand!

ILA team: Roland Tusch, Cecilia Furlan, Jürgen Furchtlehner, and Emilie Stecher.

The project ReInd-BBG (Reindustrialisation Following the Brownfield is Better than Greenfield Principle) is financed by the Interreg Danube Region Programme of the European Union.
