A vision for the future of Weert’s train station area in Limburg - through strategic planning and urban design:
Opportunity to attend the annual International Design Week (RE) CYCLE Limburg from November 18th to 22nd 2024. This year will have the 9th edition that will take place in Weert Municipality in Limburg.
The design week will focus on the station area of Weert Municipality. A 3-kilometer-long strip of land along the railway, Weert's train station area (Spoorzone) is set to be transformed into a dynamic residential and working hub, offering access to various new urban services. The workshop aims to develop a vision for the future of Weert’s train station area through strategic planning and urban design that is spatially just and ecologically resilient. Moreover, different possibilities of integrating circular strategies and techniques have been explored.
There is a place for 5 BOKU master students in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning
The workshop organiser offer the students:
* Accommodation in the vacancy Park in Weert (collective houses)
* Mobility from the vacancy park to the workshop location
* Lunch
Flights Trains and other mobility are not covered by the workshop organizer.
