ACCORD - Aligning risks and coping appraisals to kick off local climate action
Methodologically, ACCORD follows a comparative case study approach: two similar regions were selected (Marchfeld and Römerland Carnuntum, Lower Austria, Austria), which are (i) representative of agricultural and industrial regions in the eastern part of Austria and (ii) characterized by small to medium-sized municipalities, which is representative for Austria in general.
The initial scoping phase is followed by an analysis and validation phase followed by a policy support focus phase. ACCORD is characterized by ongoing and intensive stakeholder engagement. The focus is on stakeholders at the local level, as this is where the immediate and directly tangible impacts of climate change meet with concrete opportunities for action.
