UH 066 471 Master programme Material and Energetic Exploitation of Renewable Raw Materials (NAWARO) - international Master programme Biomasstechnology

Graduates of this Master's programme are able to work with complex problems in the field of material and energetic use of renewable raw materials. Their competences here range from the production and extraction of raw materials through to their end use. The study programme described here is the Master's programme "Material and Energetic Exploitation of Renewable Raw Materials (NAWARO)" at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) (version A) and the international study programme Biomass Technology offered jointly with the Technical University of Munich (version B).

The international Master's programme Biomass Technology is a joint degree programme conducted in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The main objective of the study programme is the scientific, technical and economic qualification for the material and energetic exploitation of renewable raw materials from agriculture and forestry. The balanced combination of material and energy use – the expertise of the two partners (TU Munich – BOKU) complements each other very well here – is seen as a particular strength.

The students of the international study programme can freely choose the study locations, but must successfully complete at least one semester at the partner institution:

1^st Semester

Study location: Home university (TUM recommended)

2^nd Semester

Study location: Freely selectable between the two partner universities (= BOKU or TUM)

3^rd Semester

Study location: Freely selectable between the two partner universities (BOKU recommended)

4^th Semester

Study location: Freely selectable between the two partner universities (= BOKU or TUM)

The Master's programme is conducted in English, who would like to address the impending technical-socio-economic problems in the use of renewable raw materials at the national or European level.

The Master's programme is divided into the following areas:

• Focus on energetic utilisation of biomass
• Focus on the economy of renewable raw materials
• Focus on environment
• Focus on general education elective courses (incl. methods)

Admission to the Master's programme

For students who have chosen the international study programme Biomass Technology, the examination of the admission requirements takes place through the aptitude test, set up at the Technical University of Munich. The admission by the Technical University of Munich is recognised by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna.
