Duration of employment: 2 years with the option of extension and an optional PhD

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in Terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1, € 2.971,50
Responsibilities:
• Work at the interface between climate modeling and climate impact research in the field of regional climatology
• Possibility (not a prerequisite) of a subsequent doctoral program at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna
• Spatial downscaling of climate data
• Spatial interpolation of station data to gridded data
• Statistical bias adjustment of model data
• Consulting impact modelers in the use of climate data
Qualifications:
• Diploma degree in meteorology or an equivalent university degree
• Programming skills in handling gridded climate data (e.g. NetCDF), preferably in Python
• Experience in working with Linux systems
• Ideally experience in GIS (ARC-GIS, QGIS)
• Ability to work in a team, independent and highly self-motivated
