The Department of Viticulture and Oenology (DVO), Stellenbosch University, is a pioneer in wine related research. One of the topics under investigation at the DVO is wine ageing and the relationship with phenolic compounds, which is funded by the South African wine industry.

There is currently a PhD opportunity available at the DVO for a student that qualifies. The running costs of the project as well as a PhD bursary will be covered by the DVO.
