Our interdisciplinary program arises from a mutual conviction that a single discipline is unable to address the identified challenges: ABC & M covers the entire spectrum of chemical and material science aspects from the plant raw material to chemicals and materials derived from them, and from the molecular level to the resulting product, joining experts in the respective fields together.
It is the declared aim of the ABC & M Doctoral School, together with the BOKU advanced Biorefinery Center Tulln (BOKU ABC-T) to become an internationally leading research and education center in the field of biorefinery research. The already established leading role in some areas will be extended, and the teaching and education aspects will be added to the aspect of scientific excellence, ensuring that world-class experts doing world-class research are generated by the doctoral school to be the leaders in the chemical and material science fields of tomorrows´ bioeconomies.
