BOKU has been part of the Girl's Day" initiative for many years. During the orientation phase of their professional orientation, 11-16-year-old girls* can gain insights and perspectives into various areas of BOKU. The focus is on those areas in which the proportion of women tends to be low - such as the technical, scientific and engineering STEM fields.

As part of the EU project "Gender Equality in Engineering through Communication and Commitment" (GEECCO) videos have been produced. They explain the pertinence of gender in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and the relevance for scientists.
