Eligible Journals

The following six Subscribe to Open (S2O) journals:

  • Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
  • Applied and Environmental Microbiology
  • Infection and Immunity
  • Journal of Bacteriology
  • Journal of Clinical Microbiology
  • Journal of Virology

Page Charges and Supplemental Material Fee are covered by the agreement. There are no OA fees.

Please note: Fees apply in other ASM journals, which cannot be covered by the agreement.

Funding Criteria
  • The corresponding author1 is a member of BOKU according to UG 2002 §94 at the time of submission or acceptance and states “BOKU University” as their affiliation (see latest Affiliation Policy, published 17.04.2025).
  • The Acknowledgment contains: “Open access funding provided by BOKU University”.
  • Article is published in an issue published during the contract term

The following also applies to FWF articles:

  • CC BY 4.0 License
  • The Acknowledgment contains: „This research was funded in whole or in part by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) [grant DOI]. For open access purposes, the author has applied a CC BY public copyright license to any author accepted manuscript version arising from this submission.“

1In the case of multiple Corresponding Authors, only the author submitting the manuscript and handling the correspondence with the publisher is eligible.
