Influence of raw sojabeans in diets for dairy cows

Summary

An experiment with 77 Simmental cows was conducted over a period of five months to evaluate the influence of 10 % raw soybeans in the feed concentrate on feed intake, milk yield and milk composition. All cows were primiparous and within the first two thirds of lactation. The forage feed consisted of heat-dried clover-grass and whole-corn-plant-pellets, which were offered ad libitum. The intake of concentrate was limited at 5,5 kg. There were no significant differences between the two groups. Key words: feeding, raw sojabeans, dairy cow, fatty acid pattern of milk.
