Information for the use of services of the Core Facility Bioinformatics (hereafter referred as
BINF).

Article 1: Request BINF Services

  1. The Client requests a service from BINF using the general contact email binf@boku.ac.at and by submitting a filled-out Request Form (URL link). The initial meeting is free of charge and will cover the feasibility of the request as well as timeline, analysis outputs, types of services, and other necessary details.
  2. The user agrees to follow the BINF instructions to access the storage space for data transfer and to create an account in the project management system PPMS.
  3. The contract for the requested service is considered finalized upon acceptance of the Cost Information for the BOKU client or upon submission of Appendix B from official offer for external (non-BOKU) client.
  4. For custom bioinformatics service requests, the personnel time utilized by BINF staff will be invoiced monthly at the beginning of the following month. This will continue until the agreed target is achieved, whether that be the total consumption of the agreed working hours or the completion of the agreed-upon results.
  5. For third-party services (e.g. sequencing services, QC of DNA/RNA material, others), BINF bears no responsibility and acts only as a facilitator intermediary between the third-party service provider and the client.

Article 2: Data Transfer and Storage

  1. BINF provides the user with storage space for uploading/downloading data. Data exchange between the user and BINF via hard drives is allowed only in exceptional cases where online transfer is not possible.
  2. BINF is not responsible for damage or loss of input data, nor for any potential loss or damage to hard drives and the data stored on them.
  3. If the input data provided by the user does not meet the quality requirements for the requested service, BINF will inform the user. The Service Agreement may then be renegotiated and modified, provided both parties mutually consent.
  4. The maximum retention time of user data is 30 calendar days from the conclusion of the requested service. An extension of the data storage period can be discussed with BINF and will incur additional charges for the user.
