FEI Apreo VolumeScope Scanning Electron Microscope
The FEI Apreo VolumeScope is a scanning electron microscope (SEM) which can be loaded with a built-in microtome to section plastic-embedded tissues for volumetric analysis (Serial Blockface SBF). Our Apreo is also compatible with cryo-preserved samples and tissues in their native state through our Leica cryopreparation equipment and transfer systems. An Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy addition can be used for elemental mapping.
Leica HPM100 high-pressure freezer
By applying extreme pressure, this device prevents damaging ice crystal formation, preserving samples up to 200 µm in thickness in their native, lifelike states for electron microscopy.
Leica Cryopreparation and Transfer System
The Leica cryo-preparation and cryo-transfer system enables the preparation, coating, transfer, and SEM imaging of frozen samples under cryogenic conditions
FEI Tecnai G2 20 Transmission Electron Microscope
The transmission electron microscope FEI G2 is suitable for analyzing subcellular structures of thin tissue slices and nanomaterials. It can also be used for electron tomography to analyze samples in 3D.
