The BOKU Core Facility Multiscale Imaging (MSI) was established as a pioneer research platform in 2010, offering open access to various high-end microscopes to all students, research staff and professors independent of their affiliation. Non-BOKU academic users as well as industrial partners are very welcome!

The current facility is the successor of the BOKU-VIBT Imaging Center, the oldest core facility of the BOKU university. Currently we offer microscopes in various fields of light microscopy:

  • Laser scanning confocal microscopes
  • Wide-field fluorescence microscopes
  • Laser microdissection microscope
  • Raman and FT-IR microspectrometers for chemical imaging.

Among the facility’s services are training for all the microscopes and planning and discussion of scientific projects or grant proposals involving light microscopy studies. We provide access to dedicated software and hardware for image analysis, too.

Last but not least we can do the imaging for you!
