Quality of the Planned Research of the BOKU Doctoral School
Criteria:
- Quality of research
- Permeation of interdisciplinary research
- Establishment of scientific focus areas at BOKU
- Alignment of research areas to the fields of competences of BOKU
- Addressing goals of “BOKU Strategy for Sustainability” and “BOKU Strategy for Internationalization 2010-2015” ( student mobility, international class-rooms, internationalization at home)
Quality of the Faculty
Criteria:
- Scientific output in terms of SCI/SSCI publications
- Available third-party funds
- Interdisciplinary competences and coherence
- Funding experience and capacity
- Experience in supervision of doctoral candidates
- Existing national and international collaborations
- Strategy and measures to achieve gender balance
- Optional: Strategy for integration of young researchers into the faculty
Quality of the Training Program
Criteria:
- Structure and interdisciplinarity of curriculum
- Type and extend of interdisciplinary meetings (e.g. joint seminars, retreats..)
- Appropriate training program
- Defined and transparent rules for selection/admission process
- Quality of proposed monitoring process
- International exposure of doctoral candidates
- Admission of international doctoral candidates to the Doctoral School
- Rules for quality assurance in education
- Strategy and measures to achieve gender balance
Added Value
Criteria:
- Added value to doctoral education/doctoral candidates at BOKU
- Added value to the field of competences of BOKU
- Added value to the faculty and beyond
- Added value to international visibility
- Optional: Intersectoral exposure and added value to stakeholders
