- The coordinating PI has to be affiliated with BOKU.
- The consortium should involve PIs from more than one Department of BOKU
- Each PI can participate in max. 2 Doctoral Schools/PhD programs of BOKU

Funding
Funding of BOKU will include:
- Educational costs
These are costs related to measures that strengthen the interdisciplinary and international character of the Doctoral School and that support the career development of doctoral candidates. Eligible costs include costs for the selection/admission process, participation at conferences, research stays abroad, internships, organisation of workshops, annual retreats of the Doctoral School, costs for transferable skills training…
The Doctoral School will be granted a maximum amount of Euro 5.000,-- per BOKU-enrolled doctoral candidate per year up to the maximum total funding of Euro 375.000,-- per Doctoral School.
Only actual costs in the above mentioned cost categories can be claimed.
- Costs related to the implementation of new scientific lectures/courses for doctoral candidates
Funding does not include financing of doctoral positions. Salary and research related costs have to be funded by third-party funds of the Principal Investigators (e.g. FWF, OeNB, FFG, EU, COMET Centres, Company Partners), by individual fellowships of doctoral candidates (e.g. OeAW, OeAD, EU) or by funds externally allocated by the Doctoral School itself (e.g. FWF doc.funds, Cofund of EC)
- BOKU has established a DocService for administrative support of Doctoral Schools.
Funding period:
Initially 5 years. Program evaluations every four years decide about continuation of the Doctoral School and the composition of the Faculty.
