In his lecture, Prof. Emil Erjavec talks about the institutional and political background of the last EU agricultural reform. He shows how the context (Brexit, Green Deal) influenced the outcome in favour of reform and how the Agriculture and Fisheries Council and the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament used their co-decision powers to relax many of the European Commission's reform proposals.
Prof. Erjavec is an outstanding expert on the EU's agricultural policy. He has been involved in the accession negotiations of his home country Slovenia, and has acted in an advisory capacity to the European Parliament and the European Commission.
