Call for proposals
For the BOKU Research to Market Award 2026, we are looking for innovative inventions and research results that have the potential for further economic development and use.
Projects from both basic and applied research can be submitted. We are looking for ideas and solutions with social relevance.
Inventions that have already been taken up by the rectorate are not eligible for participation.
All students (bachelor, master, doctoral) and postdocs from all BOKU locations are eligible to participate.

Selection process
Participants are selected via a two-step process:

On the basis of these submissions, three applicants will be selected to present their research results to a jury.
- You have been selected from the applicants and will present your invention / results to the jury:
- 10-minute presentation (PowerPoint)
- 5-minute discussion with the jury
- Language: German or English
The jury will evaluate the pitch and the structured elaboration of the submission criteria for the commercial and social relevance of the research results/inventions. Based on this evaluation, the jury will select the winner of the Research to Market Award
Submission and presentation to the jury do not count as publication!

The prize is at the winner's free disposal. In the case of team submissions, the prize is shared equally among team members.
Timeline / Process

Jury meeting: 15 June 2026
Award ceremony: FOS Open House, 17 September 2026
