Robert Schlumberger Research Award 2022

The Robert Schlumberger Research Award supports innovative research projects in viticulture conducted by Master's students or doctoral candidates.

As part of the annual award process, one scientific project is selected that addresses current, practice-relevant issues in viticulture using innovative scientific approaches. Eligible for submission are planned or ongoing projects that are supervised at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), in cooperation with the Department of Viticulture and Pomology. A key criterion in the selection process is the integration of basic and applied research.

The awarded funding of EUR 5,000 can be used to cover personnel, material, and travel expenses directly related to the project.

Selection Process

The award decision is made by the board of trustees of the Research Award, consisting of three representatives from the Schlumberger Private Foundation and two representatives from BOKU (the Rector and the Head of the Department of Viticulture and Pomology).

Presentation, Publication, Intellectual Property Rights

The award will be presented during an academic ceremony at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
The awarded project will be presented by the awardee at the international conference Robert Schlumberger Lectures at BOKU in the form of a poster and oral presentation.
The project will also be published in the conference proceedings of the Schlumberger Lectures. The authors retain the right to republish the work elsewhere.

Matters related to Intellectual Property Rights are governed by applicable legal and university regulations, as well as any additional agreements with involved project partners.
