“Modern numerical methods for high-fidelity simulation of geohazards” (MONUGEO)

– new Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchange Project
IGT BOKU is the coordinator of the new EU-project MONUGEO, recently approved in the frame of the Horizon Europe Staff Exchanges action. MONUGEO consists of eight beneficiary partners and seven associated partners from three continents.

"Initiation and dynamics of glacial debris flows"

– a new OeAD WTZ project at IGT
The overarching objective of this new OEAD Scientific & Technological Cooperation research project is to better understand the initiation and dynamic mechanisms of glacial debris flow hazard chains. This project will forge new cooperative networks between Austrian and French academic institutions, i.e., IGT BOKU and ISTerre Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB).

New FWF Project at IGT:

“High-fidelity multiscale modelling of debris flows” (HIME)
The ultimate goal of the new FWF project "HIME" is to develop an accurate, robust, and efficient multiscale numerical framework to provide high-fidelity three-dimensional simulations for debris flows considering all salient features. Thus, it has high potential for research and engineering practices in geohazards.

“Localization in Geophysics, Geohazards and Geoengineering” (LOC3G)

– new Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchange Project
A new MSCA Staff Exchanges Project – “Localization in Geophysics, Geohazards and Geoengineering” (LOC3G - 101129729) was approved by European Commission. IGT BOKU is the coordinator of LOC3G, which consists of eight beneficiary partners.

Yadong Wang - Ringo Yu award for the 2nd Runner up

During the Class A Prediction Symposium on “Debris flow impact forces on single and dual barriers” at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, MSc. Yadong Wang and the team from the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering won the Ringo Yu award for the 2nd Runner up.

Acta Geotechnica

3rd rank in "Engineering Geological"
The journal impact factors for the year 2019 have just been released by Thomson Reuters. Acta Geotechnica, with an Impact Factor of 4.35, reached the 3rd rank among the 39 journals in the world in the category "Engineering Geological".
