For degree programmes that require proof of English proficiency, applicants must demonstrate English language skills at level B2–C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as part of their application.
The following documents are accepted:
a. A language certificate that is not older than three years at the time of application and which results in the English language level B2-C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In any case, suitable language certificates are:
• TOEFL iBT (incl. Home Edition) – minimum score 95 points
• IELTS Academic 7.0 (paper/computer based, at a test centre)
• Cambridge Advanced English – minimum score 180 points/Grade C
• Cambridge Proficiency English
• TOEIC – minimum score 885 points
b. Completion of the general university entrance qualification (Reifeprüfung) in English as a subject (written or oral) at a school in Austria or Germany.
c. Completion of a bachelor's degree programme of at least three years or a master's degree programme of at least two years, which was taught entirely in English, in an EU/EEA Member State, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or the United States.
An official confirmation that the entire course of study has been completed in English must be submitted with the stamp and signature of the educational institution. Proof of English-language courses, exchange semesters or study visits to an English-speaking country is not sufficient.
