Temporary extension of the preponing regulation

COVID-19 additional resolution to § 64 para. 4 of the BOKU statutes

During the COVID-19 pandemic, after completing 150 ECTS points in compulsory and elective courses students of a bachelor's program may, contrary to § 64 para. 4 of the BOKU statutes, choose and complete master's courses of up to 60 ECTS points before admission to the master's program, as long as the master's curriculum doesn't provide anything else for individual courses and the following requirements are cumulatively met:

1. The student does not have to undergo a second or third repetition of a course exam.

2. The student has been prevented from studying due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This especially applies to travel restrictions, the limited number of exam places available, and also reasons that would allow a leave of absence according to § 91 of the BOKU statutes.

This temporary regulation applies until June 30, 2021.

Application and procedure:

Bachelor students may submit one or more applications for extended preponing via email to studienservices(at)boku.ac.at  by June 30, 2021. Each application must contain:

  • The bachelor's course(s) that could not be completed due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
  • The specific reasons why this was the case.
  • The master's course(s) for which the application is to be made. For courses not subject to continuous assessment you will be registered for a desired exam date; for continuous assessment courses you will be registered for the course in the winter or summer semester.

The ECTS points of the hindered bachelor's and the early master's course(s) do not have to follow each other.

The Dean of Studies makes the decision on the application according to § 57 Abs. 1 of the BOKU statutes.

Up to 18 ECTS credits can be brought forward without application.
