Regulations for on-site examinations in the winter semester 2020/21

The following procedures must be followed for on-site examinations.

Examining under these new conditions is a new experience for both students and teachers. The goal is to make examinations as stress-free as possible in spite of the strict health regulations. Be considerate of others and remain calm.

Before the exam:

  • Register for the exam via BOKUonline and get information about the exam methods.
  • If you belong to an at-risk group and are unable to participate in on-site examinations, please contact the office for the care of people with special needs.
  • If you are unable to take part in on-site examinations due to travel restrictions, please contact the respective course leader.
  • If you are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with people who display such symptoms, then you should withdraw from the exam.

On the day of the exam:

  • Be punctual and expect to have to wait at the entrances.
  • Always keep a distance of at least 2 meters from other people, even in queues or in other situations where several people are present (e.g. sanitary facilities).
  • Put on a FFP2 mask before entering the building.
  • Immediately upon entering the building, disinfect your hands at one of the disinfectant dispensers or wash them with soap in the nearest toilet for a minimum of 30 seconds.
  • Only pens, permitted examination aids, your ID card and possibly your drink are permitted on the desk surface.
  • You are obliged to wear the FFP2 mask during the whole on-site exam.
  • Only when checking the identity is it permitted - while maintaining a safe distance - for the FFP2 mask be removed.

If rules are not followed:

All rules and instructions given to you during the on-site exam must be followed. These regulations are to protect the health of all parties involved and serve as the basis for the proper conduct of the exam.

If regulations are violated or instructions are not observed, the exam supervisor present must, after a single warning, pronounce the termination of the exam. The incident will be recorded and immediately reported to the Dean of Studies.

Instructions for the exam supervisor:

The examiner must ensure that the examination is conducted in an orderly fashion (§ 84, paragraph 3 BOKU statutes). Candidates must keep a minimum distance of 2 m from the time they enter the examination room and must wear a FFP2 mask. Candidates are to be distributed in the best possible way in the exam room; in any case a minimum distance of 2 m must be kept between the seats. The exam supervisor is also obliged to wear a FFP2 mask.
