Values in Transition – Societal Responsibility of Science

An invitation to academic self-reflection

Which values & principles are important to members of BOKU and which ones shape their everyday life? Do they overlap or is there a difference between the actual and the desired state? Which values & principles play a role on an institutional and on a personal level? How does one define their own role within the university and towards society? And what ideas do university members have for a future teaching, learning and research space?

In the form of small interventions, a team consisting of members of the Center for Global Change and Sustainability, the Coordination Office for Equality, Diversity and Disability and the BOKU Ethics Platform invites you to an interactive academic self-reflection. Based on the paper of Urai & Kelly 2023 "Point of View: Rethinking academia in a time of climate crisis" (eLife 12:e84991), graphics were created to stimulate self-reflection and to give an overview of what people at BOKU experience, wish to experience and reflect upon. The results are published here.
