The dream team has grown!

Even during the summer, our Vienna Climate Games team is busy working. In the past few weeks we have refined our ideas together with representatives of the City of Vienna. Currently, we are testing a variety of climate games to help us make our own game as interesting as possible.

In order to develop an even better game, we are being supported by two new team members – Hannah Hofbauer and Katharina Trimmel. At the beginning of July, we met again personally for the first time in a long time (of course sticking to the Corona-rules). In addition to an update on the project, we played a climate game and tried on our new, ultra-soft and sustainably produced Vienna Climate Games t-shirts.

Due to the COVID-19-pandemic, we have obviously needed to make adjustments to our project timeline. Our school workshops are particularly important for the game development and we hope that they will take place in autumn as planned. Until then, we will keep you up to date!

Vienna Climate Games in the Austrian Newspaper „Die Presse“!

Which climate-relevant activities are needed from the point of view of young people in Vienna and how are decisions negotiated together? The Vienna Climate Games project is investigating exactly that!

Successful project kick-off!

Vienna Climate Games officially started with a kick-off meeting on 7th February 2020. The team was full of enthusiasm to work together in coming up with ideas as we discussed the tasks and next steps for the development of the game.

Over the coming months, we will be focussed on reaching out to schools in Vienna that are interested in participating in the project, conducting workshops and finally coming up with the narratives of the game. We are also looking forward to talking with our city representatives to understand their perspectives on climate action. All in the spirit of knowledge co-creation and collaboration!

We are very excited to share this experience with you and we hope to get a consensus on mechanisms and instruments for climate protection measures in Vienna!
