Martin Schmid is Associate Professor at the Center for Environmental History (ZUG), Institute of Social Ecology, Department for Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU). Trained in history and archaeology at the University of Vienna (Mag. phil. 2002, Dr. phil. 2007), 2014 venia legendi in Environmental History at Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. Carson Fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment & Society, LMU and Deutsches Museum in Munich in 2011. Deputy director of the Institute of Social Ecology 2016-17, founding member (2003) and director of ZUG in 2010.
