ERC-EP Event in Brussels: Science-driven solutions for sustainable food
The ERC is organising a joint conference with STOA on 10-11 October at the European Parliament in Brussels, it will also be live streamed. It will address the critical role of curiosity-driven, frontier research in solving practical challenges in sustainable food production and consumption. ERC-funded researchers will discuss consumer behaviour, greener production processes and the impact on health, food security and trade, together with members of the European Parliament and other prominent speakers. In fact, Commissioner Ivanova, EP VP Angel, Christian Ehler and Prof. Maria Leptin will be part of the Opening part of the event.
The topic is particularly interesting, because it will show how absurd it is to distinguish basic and applied research, as well as the importance of the social sciences and humanities.
