European Molecular Biology Organization

EMBO fellowships aim to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, to stimulate the exchange of scientific information and to promote their international reputation and insure mobility. Applicants to the fellowships should conduct research in EMBO´s field of interest*.

Goal: EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent researchers for up to 2 years to gain mobility experience. EMBO Grantee will receive a living allowance (e. g. Euro 73,800/year for Austria) to cover their cost of living in the host country. A detail of the rates for other countries are to be found here.

Eligibility: Applicant must hold a doctorate, not longer than two years before the application deadline. Applicants must have at least 1 first author publication. Application must involve international mobility, but applications implying to move back to the country in which the PhD was obtained will not be eligible.

Candidates who have already started working in the host laboratory can apply only if they have been working in the host laboratory for less than six months at the time the application.
