Webinar

Expanding your research profile in a new environment of excellence is essential for sustainable professional academic development.

One key to success is mobility: The Erwin Schrödinger Program from FWF gives highly qualified postdocs the opportunity to pursue career-enhancing stays at internationally renowned research institutions, and also provides them with support after their return to Austria.

Note, that there is no eligibility restriction for the applicants in terms of number of years spent in research since the completion of the PhD.

The main requirements are:

  • That you must provide an invitation from the foreign research institution (institution outside Austria where you will do your research for 10 up to 24 months)
  • That you must comply with the “Territoriality Principle”:

Applicants must have had their main place of residence in Austria for at least three of the last ten years at the time of application, and/or must have been working continuously as a researcher in Austria for the last two years preceding the submission of the application. More info can be found in the guidelines here.

  • That the applicant can actually be employed at BOKU for the planned duration of the return phase and is not affected by the chain contract rule.

At last, but not the least: another appealing fact of this program is its success rate: 41% in 2023 (according to FWF Dashboard-> https://dashboard.fwf.ac.at/).

FWF organizes an online webinar that will focus on program specifics and application guidelines and address specific aspects of the application process for this Schrödinger´s Program.

This event will take place online, on the May 28, 2025, 09:30-11:30
