FWF: ASTRA Awards Call

ASTRA is intended to provide support to postdoc researchers in the consolidation of their academic careers as an independent researcher. Postdoc candidates are eligible if the date of their PhD defense falls between two and a maximum of nine years.

Funding opportunity: from 500,000 up to 1 million euro for five years.

There is one call per year, and the deadline for submission is on September 18, 2025.

Due to the strategic character of this call (i. e. successful candidates will be offered to apply to a tenure-track position), each application must be discussed by the rectorate and validated by Vice-rector Christian Obinger.
