Detection of EU plant pests: trapping (LOT 1), eDNA (LOT 2) and remote sensing imagery (LOT 3)

This call aims to strengthen the capacity of EU Member States to detect, monitor, and control Union Quarantine pests, Protected Zone pests, and pests for which emergency measures are in place. 

– Lot 1: Development and application of trapping methods for detecting insect pests (estimated value 750K EUR) 

– Lot 2: Use of eDNA analyses to support early detection and surveillance of pests (estimated value 500K EUR) 

– Lot 3: Application of remote sensing technologies to identify host plants and support pest detection (estimated value 350K EUR

The call is open to research organizations, public authorities, universities, and expert consortia with relevant expertise in pest monitoring, molecular diagnostics, remote sensing, and related scientific fields. Being the procurement procedure (tender) is not limited to the MS competent organizations (EFSA Art.36 list). 

Maximum budget is in total 1,600,000.00 EUR for 48-month maximum project duration under framework agreement.
