The deadline for the ERC Advanced Grant is approaching: August 27, 2026

If you are an experienced researcher (more than 15 years post-PhD) with an excellent track-record and a ground-breaking idea, then the ERC Advanced can be for you.

ERC Advanced supports up to five years of your research with a budget of 2,5 Mio. Euro!

Two researchers at BOKU already got the chance to receive this prestigious ERC Advanced grant, 

  • Helmut Haberl, Institute of Social Ecology got his ERC MAT_STOCKS in 2017,
  • and more recently (in 2024), Wei Wu, Institute of Geotechnical Engineering for his project MOTRAN.

We all know that it is a highly competitive funding program, but we are here to support you!

The mERCury organizes an online event “Towards an ERC Advanced Grant: from groundbreaking idea to successful proposal”. The event will guide participants from shaping a truly “groundbreaking” idea to understanding the evaluation process of the European Research Council (ERC).
