CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: World Food Prize
The World Food Prize celebrates the innovators whose work has advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food. Founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Norman E. Borlaug in 1986, the Prize is recognized globally as the premier award for great achievement in food and agriculture and has honored 56 Laureates from 22 countries in a wide variety of fields related to food security. The cash award for the Prize is $ 500,000.
Participation of world-class in the nomination process has been and continues to be an especially meaningful way to uplift the work that is being done around the world to end hunger. Deadline for submissions: May 1, 2026, and the nomination criteria and form are available at http://www.worldfoodprize.org/nominate. A deadline extension is available upon request.
We also encourage you to submit a candidate for the 2026 Norman Borlaug Field Award. This $ 10,000 award recognizes exceptional, science-based achievements in international agriculture and food systems by a researcher or practitioner under the age of 40. Recipients emulate the same intellectual courage, stamina and determination in the endeavor to eliminate global hunger and poverty demonstrated by Dr. Borlaug as a young scientist working in Mexico in the 1940s and '50s, doing the work that would be recognized with the 1970 Nobel Peace Prize.
