Start der Artensuche am BOKU Campus

Am 290426 startet die internationale ICA Biodiversity Challenge 2026, bei der die BOKU auch diesmal gegen 14 weitere europäische Universitäten antritt, um sich den Titel "biodiversitätsreichster Campus Europas" zu sichern! Dafür werden an den BOKU Standorten Türkenschanze mit Park, Muthgasse und Tulln, sowie BOKU Lehrforstzentrum, Forstlicher Versuchsgarten „Knödelhütte“, BOKU Versuchswirtschaft, Versuchszentrum Jedlersdorf und Wassercluster Lunz im Zeitraum vom 290426- 270626 so viele heimische Tier- und Pflanzenarten wie möglich mithilfe der ObsIdentify-App erfasst.

Die Teilnahme ist ganz einfach:
1) Lade die ObsIdentify-App herunter, lege ein Benutzerkonto an und bestätige die Anmeldung.
2) Fotografiere deine Entdeckungen mit der App und veröffentliche sie. Alle erfassten Tier- und Pflanzenarten werden in den Untersuchungsgebieten werden automatisch gezählt und der Challenge zugeordnet.
3) Sammle und dokumentiere eifrig deine Funde!
Unsere erste BOKU BioBlitz-Exkursion findet am 130526, 10:00-11:00, gemeinsam mit Herpetologin Yoko Krenn beim Biotop im BOKU-Garten statt.
Außerdem wird bis zum Challenge-Ende (270626), montags von 13:00-13:30, eine Einführung in die Datenerfassung und eine gemeinsame Artensuche im Zuge unseres Jour fixe (Treffpunkt Mendel-Hof vor dem Mendel-Café) stattfinden. Viele weitere gemeinsame Exkursionen mit Expert*innen aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen und weitere Veranstaltungen sind geplant und werden laufend auf der Webseite: https://boku.ac.at/boku-biodiversitaetscluster veröffentlicht.
 


April 29, 2026, marks the start of the international ICA Biodiversity Challenge 2026, in which BOKU is once again competing against 14 other European universities for the title of "Most Biodiverse Campus in Europe"! To achieve this, we aim to record as many native animal and plant species as possible between April 29, and June 27, 2026, at the BOKU locations Türkenschanze (including the park), Muthgasse, Tulln, as well as the BOKU Forest Teaching Centre, "Knödelhütte", BOKU Experimental Farm, Versuchswirtschaft Jedlersdorf, and the Water Cluster Lunz, using the ObsIdentify app.

Participation is easy:
1) Download the ObsIdentify app, create a user account, and confirm your registration.
2) Photograph your discoveries and use the app to identify them. All recorded animal and plant species in the designated areas will be automatically counted and included in the challenge.
3) Collect and share your findings!
Our first BOKU BioBlitz excursion will take place on May 13, 2026, 10:00 to 11:00 am, with herpetologist Yoko Krenn near the pond in the BOKU garden. 
Additionally, from now until the end of the challenge (June 27), we’ll hold weekly species searches during our Monday “Jour fixe” from 01:00 to 01:30 PM (meeting point in front of the Mendel Café).
