New ERC funding scheme

Even more ambitious than an ERC Advanced Grant, the ERC Plus Grant is a new funding scheme to support outstanding principal investigators with bold ideas and a vision for transformative research that goes beyond the scope of existing ERC programmes.

The few key-points for this grant:

  • The applicants must have an outstanding track record.
  • This is an individual grant scheme (like the ERC AdG).
  • This ERC is for 2026 a pilot scheme, and only max 30 grants will be awarded.
  • Project duration from four to seven years.
  • At last, but not the least: the budget. It is up to €7 million / grant.
