The Technological Development Unit (UDT) and the Biotechnology Center (CB) of the Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), invite students from doctoral programs in Chile and abroad for a research stay for six months or more in their facilities.

Unidad de Desarrollo Tecnológico
UDT is an R&D+i center specialized in developing new products and processes from lignocellulosic raw materials. It has a staff of 140 people, including scientists, professionals and technicians with an excellent process scaling infrastructure and access to first-rate laboratories, either their own or from other university departments. The works departments of UDT are: Bioenergy, Biomaterials, Chemicals Products and Environment.

Centro de Biotecnología
CB is an R&D center oriented to enhance science-based innovation capacities of the main productive sectors of the Biobío Region, among which are forestry and aquaculture. This center brings together investigators from different departments and laboratories of UdeC in an environment equipped with infrastructure and latest equipment, along with dozens of undergraduate and graduate students, and technical staff focused on biotechnology. The CB departments are: Forest Biotechnology, Biofuels, Environmental Microbiology, Algae Biotechnology and Phytochemistry.
