On Mai 16, 2015, the „Wiener Ruderclub Pirat“, hosts a spectacular „University Race“ for the supreme discipline of rowing – the eights, taking place in the center of Vienna.
 
Idea of this university regatta is to connect European universities and especially those of the economic and cultural region along the Danube by means of sports. The „University Race“ is part of the „wienerachter“ regatta, which itself is part of the new "Capital Cup".
 
Women and men teams of each age are warmly welcome to the race – including employees of universities.
