IBS-Americas (member of IIE and EFMD) has been organizing short-term study abroad programs since 2003, and is receiving applications for the program “Agribusiness in Brazil”. The program is held in São Paulo, the biggest city in Brazil and capital of São Paulo state, responsible for 40% of Brazil’s
GDP, with easy access to countryside (farms) and coast. Students are supported by an extensive scholarship program covering up to 70% of the tuition expenses.

All Sophomore and up or graduate students, regardless of grade point average, Portuguese language background, citizenship or residency status are eligible and encouraged to apply, as long as studying in one of the following areas: Business, Agribusiness, Food Science, Environmental engineering, Agronomy, Agronomic engineering, Agricultural management, Economics and Agricultural economics. Interested from other areas might check individually the possibility of being accepted.

Our intensive program “Agribusiness in Brazil” is integrally taught in English, covering topics such as:

  • Global context of Agribusiness;
  • Innovation, Technology & Sustainability;
  • Challenges and Opportunities in Agribusiness .


Together with renowned guest speakers on the topic and customized company and farmland visits, students will get an introduction and basic knowledge of how to do agribusiness in Brazil and other emerging markets. Programs are offered once a year, as follows:

August: 3 weeks

Students interested in to transferring credits will be evaluated final project presentation, final exam, class participation and class attendance. The final grade and the attendance rate will be available on the Transcripts Report.

This is a great opportunity to know Brazil, one of the newest economic powers and most fruitful country in the world, opening up new academic and professional horizons for you. Our last groups of another program, “Strategy & Marketing for Emerging Countries”, were composed of students from more than 35 different countries.
