on March 26, 6pm

Combating climate change, and living within our planet's boundaries despite becoming more and more inhabitants, are only some of the "wicked problems" of our time. University and science want to contribute, but are we on the right way? Some argue for interdisciplinarity, others for excellence… and how do we measure the “quality” of these approaches? Where are the pitfalls?

Arjen Wals, Wageningen UR, and Verena Winiwarter, Institute of Social Ecology, are going to discuss with Charlotte Voigt, ÖH BOKU. Vice rector Christian Obinger will open the event. CDR partner scientist Georg Gratzer, Institute of Forest Ecology, is going to lead you through the evening.

Date: Tuesday, 26 March 2019
Time: 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Place: Festsaal (3rd floor), Gregor-Mendel-Haus, 18., Gregor-Mendel-Straße 33

Arjen Wals is professor of transformative learning for sustainability and currently guest professor at BOKU Vienna.
