Hafte Tesfay: Advancing Sustainable Agroforestry Research in Ethiopia


Hafte Tesfay, Alumnus and researcher at Austria’s Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests and BOKU University, focuses on forest biodiversity, agroforestry, and climate change mitigation. He leads the STRENGTH project empowering women in Ethiopia's Fogera district. At BOKU Tropentag 2024, he presented a study on Gedeo’s agroforests, highlighting their role in biodiversity conservation, landscape connectivity, and climate change mitigation.
