This event marks the final workshop in a series organized as part of the Research and Strategies for Food and Agriculture Sustainability (RASFAS) project funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and conducted in partnership with the Institute for Development Research (IDR) of BOKU University.

Researchers, policymakers, and practitioners largely agree that our current food systems need urgent, transformative change to meet complex and compound challenges. However, what this transformation involves and how best to achieve it are interpreted and discussed in different ways.

In this workshop, we want to take a closer look at the widely used concepts of food systems and transformation. Drawing on practical projects, we discuss possible entry points for food systems transformation, identify existing blind spots, and highlight the complexity of transformative processes. Bridging theory and practice, we examine how research, practice, and policy can drive meaningful change. Following up we reflect on future topics that will shape ongoing discourse.

The program.
