Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme, Croatia

The BIP summer school will explore innovations in the food production systems, sustainability, and agriculture in urban environment. It will be delivered in cooperation with the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, and the University of Life Sciences "King Mihai I" from Timisoara, Romania.

During the online and on-site activities, participants will learn about sustainable agriculture, urban gardening, food waste reduction, resource efficiency, local sourcing, biodiversity, community engagement, policy support and local food initiatives. The summer school topic will emphasize innovative practices and policies that promote environmentally friendly food production and consumption within urban environments. Participants will engage in discussions on community engagement, social equity in food access, and the role of technology in creating resilient food systems. Emphasis will be also put on the issues of food production in new conditions caused by climate change and on ecological aspects of urban agriculture. Overall, in Osijek, the greenest Croatian city, participants will gain insights into how to foster a more sustainable and equitable food future in greener cities.

This BIP will host both students and university teachers, as well as experts from real sector and community representatives.
